Rhonda S. Kisi Soapstone Chess Pieces
When I initally saw this chess set, I was very impressed. It was different
from any other soapstone chess carvings that I'd ever viewed. It was passed
on to me because the original owner was disappointed with the damage that
had occurred over the years from actual use. Even with the damaged areas, I
saw a greater potential for this set, an artistic showpiece. The challenge:
Find a skilled artisan with a passion and self-gratification for the
restoration process. With a great deal of diligence I found Diane Caron on
the internet. How could I determine if I found the right person for my
inherited treasures? I simply read the contents of her website, the more
than helpful restoration information, the references posted, and who could
deny the pictures demonstrating the results before and after.
Now, as any normal cautious person, I was slightly concerned about giving up
control and relinquishing my items to a person I never met face to face, and
in another country. But, I was very comforted by the awesome initial
communications, and then I became comfortable enough to took the leap of
faith, to let go and trust.
Once the items were mailed, received and in the process of repair
communications remained consistent and informative from Diane. She was
ready, willing, and able to answer the smallest of questions or concerns
with immediate attention and patience.
Upon receipt of the finished product, I could not have wished for a better
result. I had high expections, however those expectations have been
exceeded, and I have absolutly no reservation to trust Diane Caron with any
of my personal items in the future. Diane is simply fantastic, the love for
what she has been blessed to develop as a skill is fully demonstrated in the
attention to detail, care and love of the item(s) she will return to you.
If you are reading this reference, and have any hesitation, based on my
experience...let go and trust, that she will treat your items as if they are
her own.
